Our Story
Born from a Need for Justice
PLRI was founded on the conviction that millions of Pakistanis are deprived of justice — not because the law doesn't protect them, but because they don't know their rights.
Our founders — legal professionals, students, researchers, and advocates — came together from across Pakistan to build an organization that places the citizen at the center of legal justice. From Karachi to Muzaffarabad, PLRI represents a truly national movement.
Today, PLRI operates through five specialized teams each contributing to our singular mission: empowering citizens through knowledge.
Our Journey
Foundation
PLRI established in Lahore with a founding team of legal advocates and law students committed to public legal education.
Team Expansion
Grew to 15+ members spanning five departments, representing universities across Pakistan.
Service Launch
Launched 8 core services including pro bono support, community education workshops, and online legal resources.
Policy Advocacy
Began engaging with policymakers to push for legislative reforms protecting human and legal rights.
Looking Ahead
Expanding digital toolkits, national partnerships, and a growing volunteer network.
